About us

As of writing ROOTS Coffeeshop is the only coffeeshop in the South East borough of Amsterdam which one of the fastest developing boroughs of the capital. And we’re very proud of that. It took us a while, but on the 18th of July 2017 we opened our doors. Finally, after 15 years of lobbying and a lot of bureaucratic tug-of-war, we got this awesome location. We’re right underneath the metro and train station Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA. A short metro or train ride will take you to places like the city centre and Schiphol airport.

ROOTS is a coffeeshop with a lot of love for the neighborhood. We embody growth, planting seeds and building a solid foundation. Many of our employees are Bijlmer natives and we have a lot of ambition to grow together towards bigger things. Next to our location in the Bijlmer, you can also find us in the city centre (‘t Keteltje) and soon in a new location in the city of Amersfoort.
